You should not add 225 or 584 days to your birth date to find the return. You need to consult an ephemeris or astrology software that calculates tropical geocentric longitude.
Why the return usually happens once a year
As seen from Earth, Venus travels through the zodiac while staying within a limited apparent distance from the Sun. Most of the time it moves forward and crosses each degree once. As a result, it usually meets its natal longitude again in a cycle close to one year.

Three contacts do not mean three relationships, payments, or events. They belong to the same process. The first pass may introduce an issue; the retrograde pass may bring it up for reconsideration; and the final pass may show what has taken shape.
